| Parkview expanding remote care
A program to remotely monitor critical-care patients in five Parkview Health hospitals has been expanded to give doctors more time to spend at the bedside, officials said Monday. More than a year ago, Parkview contracted with St. Louis-based Advanced ICU, which connects critical-care physicians to hospital ICU patients using telemedicine technology. Parkview previously used both Advanced ICU Care's clinicians and its own critical-care physicians and nurses to monitor patients remotely. The health system is now using Advanced ICU's complete eICU program for that purpose. This provides round-the-clock remote monitoring by board-certified critical care physicians and nurses, among other services. Ford recalling 180,000 SUVs Ford Motor Co.

Collins crashed car as police closed in
I said to him, 'I don't want your money. I just want you to know that I'm ringing you to tell you that I've been very upset about this.' And he said, 'Look, I'm too busy now.' Then he cut his phone out." He may not have known it, but Collins, who died last year facing pedophilia charges, had good reason to be cagey. Standing beside the actor, listening in, was a police detective. "He tried to sound excited to hear from me but he was watching what he was saying, he was being cautious," Lewis recalls. "The detective told me not to ring him back, that I'd done enough." Lewis had already provided a detailed statement of how Collins had offered him a job at the CSIRO farm in Berrimah, on the outskirts of Darwin, in the early 1970s. He was 14 at the time.
Garnaut confirms need for strong, early action
Sir Nicholas Stern re-shaped the way economists thought about climate change when he delivered his groundbreaking report in 2006. The Stern Review found the global impacts of climate change where far higher than the cost of reducing emissions. The study currently being conducted by veteran Australian economist Ross Garnaut has been called by some 'the Australian Stern Review'. Professor Garnaut's interim report says Australia has an "exceptional sensitivity to climate change" and warns we will be "possibly the biggest loser amongst developed countries" if we fail to rein in emissions. Just as Stern rang the alarm bells for the world, Garnaut has sounded a siren for Australia. Professor Garnaut also turned another piece of conventional wisdom on its head.
Hard work, luck brought about fugitive's capture
After six days of hunting a fugitive who assaulted an Orange County deputy last weekend, undercover officers were closing in Thursday afternoon, following a black, four-door sedan in the Rosemont neighborhood. Suddenly, the car pulled over, flashed its lights and flagged down the sheriff's "felony squad" trackers that were following. The occupants asked if deputies were looking for "Malik," an acquaintance who was at the nearby home they were renting. "The passenger handed deputies the keys to his house," said Orange County sheriff's Capt. Lee Massie, who oversees the unit's operations. "He said him, his wife and kid are inside. He said, 'I want you to get him before my kids get home.' " .

We have to give people reasons to live here, and having a job here is one of the very best reasons, " said Michael Kent, an alderman and attorney who has lived in Waterloo since 1995. "Raising awareness of who we are and what we have to offer is very important. " Perry Judd 's, which printed Time, People and Sports Illustrated magazines for Time Warner, has three warehouses, a manufacturing facility and a corporate office building available. There are four vacant lots on the city 's northeast side that also are primed for development.
